We are very honored to welcome His Eminence Thamthog Rinpoche, Ex-Abbot of the Namgyal Monastery, during his visit to Canada, Montreal and Toronto, from June 10 to July 10, 2026, and to receive Dharma Teaching.
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
At the age of six years old, Thamthog Rinpoche was recognized by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama as the reincarnation of the 12th Thamthog Rinpoche, an important spiritual master from the city of Lithang, in the eastern Tibetan province of Kham.
Since he was a child, Thamthog Rinpoche has followed the traditional studies and training in debate of Buddhist sutra and tantra. He is an accomplished master who has numerous students across the world (United States, Canada, Italy, France, Vietnam, etc.)
In 2009, Thamthog Rinpoche was appointed as Abbott of Namgyal Monastery, His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s personal monastery. Since then, Thamthog Rinpoche accompanies His Holiness in his travels around the world. The same year he was also appointed as Head of Spiritual Affairs in the Office of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

In Tibetan Buddhism, Vajrayogini is a powerful female deity who represents enlightened wisdom and the complete transformation of ordinary passions into pure spiritual energy. She is depicted as a brilliant red, fierce, and unhindered figure surrounded by flames, symbolizing that her practice frees our own innermost potential. Practitioners who hold their tantric vows, commitments, and maintain a pure connection with their spiritual master are guaranteed to attain full enlightenment or be guided to her pure realm (Kechara Paradise) within seven lifetimes.

Black Manjushri (Jampel Nagpo in Tibetan) is a wrathful, healing manifestation of the Bodhisattva of Wisdom in Tibetan Buddhism. His practice is fiercely compassionate, specifically utilized to cut through deep mental distress, severe physical illnesses (such as cancer or viruses), negative emotions, and harmful astrological or spiritual interferences.

Our Centre
The centre offers teachings in the Gelugpa Tibetan Buddhism tradition with the blessings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The centre was founded by the Venerable Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Jamyang, ex-Abbott of the Sera Mey Monastic University in India. Teachings on Buddhist philosophy (Sutra and Tantra) as well as tantric practices and initiations are regularly offered at the centre. The teachings are normally given in Tibetan, then translated in English, French as well as Vietnamese if required.
Parking is available on site and there is a bus stop directly in front of the centre. Please make sure to check our schedule before coming to visit the centre.
