We are very honored to welcome His Eminence Thamthog Rinpoche, Former Abbot of the Namgyal Monastery, during his visit to Canada and to receive Dharma Teaching.
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
At the age of six years old, Thamthog Rinpoche was recognized by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama as the reincarnation of the 12th Thamthog Rinpoche, an important spiritual master from the city of Lithang, in the eastern Tibetan province of Kham.
Since he was a child, Thamthog Rinpoche has followed the traditional studies and training in debate of Buddhist sutra and tantra. He is an accomplished master who has numerous students across the world (United States, Canada, Italy, France, Vietnam, etc.)
In 2009, Thamthog Rinpoche was appointed as Abbott of Namgyal Monastery, His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s personal monastery. Since then, Thamthog Rinpoche accompanies His Holiness in his travels around the world. The same year he was also appointed as Head of Spiritual Affairs in the Office of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

In Tibetan Buddhism, Vajrayogini is a powerful female deity who represents enlightened wisdom and the complete transformation of ordinary passions into pure spiritual energy. She is depicted as a brilliant red, fierce, and unhindered figure surrounded by flames, symbolizing that her practice frees our own innermost potential. Practitioners who hold their tantric vows, commitments, and maintain a pure connection with their spiritual master are guaranteed to attain full enlightenment or be guided to her pure realm (Kechara Paradise) within seven lifetimes.

Black Manjushri (Jampel Nagpo in Tibetan) is a wrathful, healing manifestation of the Bodhisattva of Wisdom in Tibetan Buddhism. His practice is fiercely compassionate, specifically utilized to cut through deep mental distress, severe physical illnesses (such as cancer or viruses), negative emotions, and harmful astrological or spiritual interferences.

Palden Lhamo, also known as Shridevi, is a wrathful deity who is also the principal protectress of Tibet and the sole female among the Eight Great Dharma Protectors. Her wrathful presence, while terrifying in sight, represents the enlightened compassion that passionately protects the Dharma from corruption and destruction. She is also the personal Dharma Protector of the reincarnation lineage of the Dalai Lamas.

Vajravidarana (often called Dorje Namjom) is a semi-wrathful form of Vajrapani in Vajrayana Buddhism. Known as the "Vajra Conqueror," the deity and his associated mantra are primarily utilized for spiritual purification, healing, and clearing karmic obstacles.

Yamantaka fire puja, or Jinsek, is a highly advanced ritual practice in Vajrayana Buddhism. Rooted in Anuttarayoga Tantra, its primary purpose is to swiftly purify heavy negative karma, restore broken vows, and overcome delusions and spiritual obstacles. Through the power of the ritual, it is also believed to dispel harmful influences and create favorable conditions for spiritual progress.

This initiation combines three wrathful deities into one: Vajrapani, Hayagriva and Garuda. Vajrapani appears as the central deity, while Hayagriva appears as a single green horse head protruding from Vajrapani’s head and a white Garuda is flying above. This practice has many benefits but it is mainly a healing practice that can protect us from harm, obstacles, malevolent spirits and illnesses such as cancer, heart conditions, epileptic fits and other naga-related diseases. It can also assist with the quelling of epidemic plagues, purify impure places afflicted by supernatural interferences, and increase lifespan.

Medicine Buddha is extremely efficacious for both people within the healing profession (doctors, nurses, healers, psychologists etc) and people seeking right doctors, treatment, diagnosis, healing and effective medicine.
He has the ability to stop natural calamities and the negative, diseases or suffering arising from them. Outwardly, he helps to overcome disease and the suffering causes by disease.
On an inner, deeper level, he heals us by ultimately destroying the diseases of our mind. Practice to him ensures faster recovery from illnesses, the blessing of medicines, strength and clarity of the mind to bring you peace in your heart.

Vajrasattva is considered meditation the most perfect and complete purification practice. Practicing with him cleanses the mind of greed, hatred, and delusion, often by utilizing the "Four Powers" of regret, basis, remedy, and restraint.
He is traditionally depicted as brilliant white, holding a vajra (thunderbolt) close to his heart (representing skillful means and compassion) and an upturned bell at his waist (representing the perfection of wisdom and emptiness).

Our Centre
The centre offers teachings in the Gelugpa Tibetan Buddhism tradition with the blessings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The centre was founded by the Venerable Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Jamyang, ex-Abbott of the Sera Mey Monastic University in India. Teachings on Buddhist philosophy (Sutra and Tantra) as well as tantric practices and initiations are regularly offered at the centre. The teachings are normally given in Tibetan, then translated in English, French as well as Vietnamese if required.
Parking is available on site and there is a bus stop directly in front of the centre. Please make sure to check our schedule before coming to visit the centre.
